Rachel Carpenter is the Global Head of Insights and Design Strategy for Citi FinTech. Based in New York City and Singapore, Rachel’s team is defining the future of banking for Citi’s 110 million customers. Rachel has been recognized for transforming how Citi develops digital products – establishing best practices for co-creation and design in a highly regulated industry. She launched and leads Canvas by Citi, the U.S. financial industry’s first beta community, as well as Citi’s global Design Thinking program.Â

Prior to Citi, Rachel was the Head of Commerce Strategy at eBay Enterprise. She has also held global marketing roles at Mercer Consulting and Starwood Hotels and spent five years as a marketing strategist at Ogilvy. Rachel’s clients have included American Express, PayPal, Wells Fargo, UPS, Levi’s, Unilever, DuPont, bestselling author Adam Grant, Feeding America, and the American Museum of Natural History.Â

Rachel was named to Direct Marketing News’ 40 Under 40 List in 2015 and given WPP Group’s Under-30 Atticus Award in 2007. Her team at Citi was recently awarded 7 Silver W3 Design Awards and 3 Financial Communications Society Portfolio Awards.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. When Rachel is not thinking about financial services, she is busy raising two children in Brooklyn.Â
